May 24 - Vancouver, British Columbia: Although some still may be singing the Pemberton blues, there is a festival that is the same distance from the Lower Mainland that is family friendly and showcases similar acts than those at Pemberton Festival, all for a much lower cost. Going into its third year and growing at a rapid rate, Electric Love Music Festival is held an hour and a half from downtown Vancouver in Agassiz at the picturesque Cheam Fishing Village from July 28- 31, two weeks after Pemberton was scheduled to take place.
Independently funded and free from corporate sponsorship, the festival features international headliners such as Warren G, Croatia Squad, AutoErotique, DJ Icey, Planet of The Drums, and Liquid Stranger. Electric Love also emphasizes home-grown talent, with artists such as Stickybuds, SkiiTour, Kytami, Longwalkshortdock and Five Alarm Funk all listed on the bill. Featuring 4 custom stages, each one provides the attendee with a unique audio-visual experience to accompany the music.
If electronic music isn't your thing, then there are plenty of other activities to enjoy on the grounds. Attend one of the many transformational workshops or check out the hip-hop and band showcases that feature the region's up and coming acts. Since this festival's ambitions are oriented towards building community rather than profit, weekend passes are only $200+fees with a 3-installment payment plan available. All children 12 and under are welcome to attend free of charge, and anyone under the age of 18 must have a guardian present. The festival is drug and alcohol-free, and they have a "leave no trace" policy on the festival grounds.
Any Pemberton pass holders who did not receive a refund who decide to attend the festival will receive $50 off the gate price upon showing proof of purchase with a valid piece of government ID. In lieu of the recent situation, they are also giving out 10 free passes over the next 10 days.

(April 19, 2017 - Vancouver, BC) Electric Love Music Festival unveiled its 2017 lineup today. The 4 day family friendly festival will go from July 28-31 in Agassiz, BC. Going into its third year, this lineup confirms Electric Love as the Westcoast’s Premier Independent Music Festival. It’s beautiful location features 4 themed stages with performers of all types that span the musical spectrum & bridge generational gaps.
The lineup features international headliners Oliver (USA), Plump DJ's (UK), Liquid Stranger (Sweden) and Haywyre (USA). Celebrating the 50th anniversary of 1967’s “Summer of Love” from which it gets it's namesake from, Electric Love pays homage to that magical summer by providing an atmosphere that encourages all to "Dance and Be Free" on its Agassiz beautiful festival grounds. Thanks to a dedicated group of returning artists, volunteers, staff and attendees, Electric Love is free from corporate funding and it has already started to build a legacy based off the values of Peace, Love, Unity and Respect.
