Born and raised in Kamloops, British Columbia, 19 year old Claire Carlson-Mitton began pursuing her passion for music at the age of 11. Using YouTube tutorials to learn the basics of guitar, Claire wrote her first song “That Girl” in 2009, channeling a pop-country genre.

She began taking performance lessons shortly after with Michael Turner of Turner's Music Studio and continued writing and posting various original and cover songs to her YouTube & Facebook pages. Performance opportunities began arising locally at venues such as golf courses, coffee shops, Riverside Park Bandshell, which eventually lead to Claire becoming a performing artist and poster child [2012] for Kamloops Central Business Improvement Association’s “Live at Lunch” on the streets of Downtown Kamloops in 2011. Claire continued playing & posting music throughout high school and participated in various talent showcases, receiving the Kamloops Idol People's Choice Award in 2012. As of 2016, Claire created a SoundCloud and began to focus on learning the process of producing her own music. Written entirely herself, original songs “Shivers” [2014], Machine” [2016], and “Absence” [2017] begin to give an idea of the evolving sound of CLAIRETY. She draws inspiration from various artists in regards to the overall sound & style of both her music & lyrics (Banks, Halsey, Drake, the Weeknd, 6LACK..), and many different genres are referenced during the production of her current work (pop, alternative, R&B, hip-hop). Her stage alias, “Clairety”, is a play on her name & the word “clarity”, and although the name has only been adopted recently, it seems fitting. Electric Love Music Festival is Claire’s debut as CLAIRETY - and she could not be more excited, or thankful, for the opportunity.

“While everything else may become foggy at times, music has always remained a constant for me. It's always been something I can fall back. To express, to seek comfort, to feel passion...music brings me clarity.” – Claire Carlson-Mitton
