Anyone who has seen Longwalkshortdock (LWSD) perform knows how he lights up the room like a freaking supernova. The Vancouver resident and underground legend, his innovative Live PA performance backed by RIM visuals is nothing short of mind blowing. Known for hard hitting Video-Game inspired Death Techno with live recorded vocals booming overtop, his more recent work has shifted towards the rapid, broken beat chaos of the Drum and Bass genre. A Vancouver Legend, Video Game Geek, and just an awesome dude in general, Longwalkshortdock is known as "Dave" when he is offstage. By day, Longwalk is just your regular everyday normal "Dave", but as soon as "Dave" gets on stage, he levels up and demands the crowd's attention.
Many Recall his Thursday night Shambhala 2014 Kick-off set in the Amphitheatre when LWSD ended his set donning braveheart regalia; dripping in sweat, Longwalk screamed at the top of his lungs "LET'S RAVE!" followed by a triumphant thrust of his sword into the air. A moshpit of chaos followed as Longwalk distributed 100 personally made replica, cardboard swords to the crowd. This memory is but one of many for people who have kept up with him over the years. Anyone who has experienced one of his performances knows that Longwalk has a way of connecting with the audience on a deeper level that transcends simple spectating. When he performs, you become a part of him and he becomes a part of you. Everything seems to click, and as he shares that moment with you, time stands still. Playing at the Nest Stage on Friday night, bear witness as "Dave" transforms into Longwalkshortdock when he gets on stage.
